We are pleased to announce an opening for a Senior Technical Engineer/Scientist who will join our Engineering Services Team in Fort Belvoir, VA and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, space superiority, cybersecurity, test range modernization, and many other marketspaces. Qualified candidates will be part of an exceptional team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission to develop and deploy the next generation Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight.

This position additionally serves as the company's National Capital Region (NCR) Site Lead who will lead and grow the nou Systems team in the NCR and will facilitate the establishment of a nou Systems NCR site office. The NCR Site Lead will collaborate with nou Systems leadership to explore and develop new business and expand existing business in the region.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Liaison will support the MDA Advanced Architectures and Advanced Concepts Evaluation Team, exploring new technologies to revolutionize our defensive capabilities. The selected candidate will represent the Missile Defense Agency with respect to technical interests at US Government forums.

In a dual-hatted role, the NCR Site Lead will be the primary face of nou Systems in the NCR, focusing on establishing and growing the nou Systems footprint in the NCR.

Duties include:
  • Engaging across the entire DoD enterprise to identify technologies that have the potential to advance the MDA mission through collaboration on research or integration of capabilities
  • Understanding and providing information to MDA leadership regarding the nature and potential of technologies being pursued by Other Government Agencies (OGA)
  • Tracking the progress of these programs of interest
  • Leading the planning and execution of joint activities
  • Work with nou Systems Senior Leadership and relevant PMs to support recruiting/staffing efforts, maintain and develop customer relationships, facilitate siting for a new office for nou Systems in NCR, serve as conduit for company culture among the growing workforce, and perform other duties associated with Site Leadership

Basic Qualifications:

At a minimum, qualified candidates must have:
  • A master's degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science.
  • At least 12 years of full-time professional experience in a technical field related to missile defense and/or technical analysis of a complex Department of Defense (DoD) weapon system
  • Must be eligible to obtain or have an active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility; minimum SECRET level clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Must be able to work at our customer site on Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia
  • United States citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have one or more of the following:
  • In depth experience with Critical Technology Area research of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, OUSD(R&E)
  • In depth knowledge of MDA components and technologies
  • Experience working with Special Access Programs (SAPs)
  • DoD-wide defense and space programs at a highly classified level
  • Understanding of the DoD and MDA acquisition processes
  • Experience in program management and/or executive level service to a US DoD Contractor
  • Experience conducting or overseeing architecture development and assessment of alternatives
  • Experience working with USG and corporate senior technical staff and executives
  • Experience interacting with and advising senior-level government customers
  • Experience generating briefings, white papers, and presenting information at the executive level

Travel requirements: An estimated 5-15% of total work will be performed while traveling to CONUS or OCONUS sites as needed by the government customer.
