The Senior Technical Trainer has comprehensive subject matter knowledge with an ability to inspire, mentor, and coach program participants. Facilitate predesigned classes, with basic guidance identify areas of improvement and opportunities for the program participants to successfully complete training and development curriculum. Evaluate program participant skills and develop techniques to assist improvements. Administer scheduled training sessions and submit timely progress reports to management for review and approval.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in program participant workshops and kick-off calls.
  • Confer with management and cross functional teams to validate training objectives in various skills, and employment levels while adhering to all OSHA regulations and CoolSys Safety Guidelines.
  • Provide support in the development of training materials and programs to ensure content is current, accurate, and effective.
  • Assist in research and review industry trends and operational changes to identify training opportunities.
  • Conduct or facilitate required and recommended training sessions.
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Ensure equipment, materials, and tools are operational and available for every training session.
  • Conduct weekly classroom and laboratory maintenance, upkeep, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, Trainees, and Training Coordinator for tri-weekly mentorship and ride-along verification of attendance and performance.
  • Provide training participants with weekly performance evaluation and general course completion updates.
  • Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, vocational certifications, and/or a related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 6+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 2+ years of related work experience engaging, coaching, and mentoring work teams.
  • Excellent communication and customer service delivery skills.
  • Microsoft Suite, learning management systems, and other related technologies.
  • Active and valid state-issued driver's license and insurance.
  • Proficient English and Spanish writing and speaking, a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the residential, industrial, and commercial HVAC/R industry including mechanical and electrical systems, industry tools and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of academic and/or vocational education curricula and best practices.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive interpersonal skills, team collaboration, creative problem solving, conflict resolution, group planning and decision-making.
  • Basic skill and ability to effectively present information and convey knowledge.
  • Proficient computer and other technology related to classroom training programs.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
