| What we are looking for

Reporting to the Director, Requirements and Testing, the Senior Test Analyst will play a crucial role to ensure the quality and performance of our software products. As the Senior Test Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand functional and non-functional requirements, develop test strategies, test plans, other test artifacts, and execute testing activities. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of test automation and risk-based test approaches.

This is a temporary position for an 18-month term.

| A day in the life

Your responsibilities as the Senior Test Analyst include but are not limited to:

Test Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement test strategies and test plans based on project requirements.
  • Define testing scope, objectives and success criteria for projects and programs.


Test Execution and Defect Management:

  • Design and write effective test cases that cover functional and non-functional requirements, including edge cases and usability testing.


Automation Testing:

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline.


Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive process improvements by leveraging CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing.


Contacts and Communications:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.


| What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software testing; manual and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies; agile, waterfall and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, TestRail) and automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is considered an asset.

| Salary range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 to $117,046.
