Role Overview:
Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Senior Test Engineer to lead various component rigs and engine tests to validate the overall design with experience in designing, programming, and modifying data acquisition systems. This role will partner with all engineering functions, supply chain, EHS and various cross-functional leadership on a daily basis to develop test strategies and deliver test results which enable the team to validate the engine design.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, programming, and modifications of low frequency and high frequency data acquisition units used for testing. Integrate instrumentation such as thermal couples, pressure transducers, accelerometers, strain gauges, etc. from test vehicles into data acquisition systems, creating and executing checkout procedures, operating test cell data acquisition and control systems during test campaigns, and establishing data reduction processes (visualization, data transmission, storage).
Lead the operation and execution of gas turbine development component tests and/or engine tests. Support electrical and data acquisition system integration within the test cell, and across the sub-systems and test vehicle
Lead overall test charter including requirements, schedules, budgets, test operations, risk management, hardware and instrumentation procurement with a focus on the overall data acquisition system operation and integration
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments, lead root cause and corrective action efforts based on learnings. Lead troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation related issues, and corrective actions related to wire landing, routing, and/or noisy signals.
Support component and/or engine assembly, disassembly, repair, prep for test, and de-prep following engine test activities
Create test procedures for engine and facility operation, and support work instructions to for assembly/disassembly activities
Design, construction, and operation of systems to support testing, data acquisition and processing, and the development of test software
Support design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system analysis to develop appropriate test systems
Support the design and/or procurement of necessary equipment for engine assembly/disassembly and test activities, including test enabling hardware, data acquisition systems, and test operation systems
Execute major maintenance plans and capital improvements of test stand
Provide technical direction and daily task coordination, cross functional team leadership, subsystem troubleshooting, and test stand direction
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Must have DAQ(Data Acquisition Qualifications) systems experience
At least 7 years of experience in aerospace, aviation and/or gas turbine testing
Strong understanding of design software tools including Matlab, Python, Excel, JMP, and Labview
Experience working with gas turbines for aviation applications within a research and development test environment
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 base salary.
