The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is on the lookout for Senior UX Designers to join our UX Design Team. The design team is as part of a larger Digital Experience team that includes product owners, developers, and analysts to deliver high-quality & user-centric digital products across AMA's many business units. You will utilize your experience in visual design and UX knowledge on many digital products across web, mobile, and app platforms. You will be involved throughout conception and ideation phases, executing high-fidelity interactive prototypes for stakeholder and business review with guidance from your UX Team Lead. When launching digital products and feature enhancements, you'll ensure proper implementation of design specifications in collaboration with developers to maintain a high standard of quality and consistency.

Your primary responsibilities include creating user-focused designs & prototypes informed by market analysis, customer feedback and requirements, and user research analytics to ensure successful digital projects and visual marketing assets deliver an impactful digital member experience for AMA's 1 million+ members.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Report to the Team Lead, UX Design, working within the Digital Design team.
  • Work within the larger Digital Product team alongside Product Owners and Business Analysts, led by the Director of Digital Products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in different business units to take abstract business ideas and complex problems and turn them into useful, elegant, and best-in-class user experiences via high-fidelity mockups & interactive prototypes.
  • Utilize your creativity, visual design craft, problem-solving skills & knowledge of UX best practices across desktop, mobile & app platforms to create amazing user experiences throughout an iterative process.
  • Understand how to combine business metrics, objectives and goals with user needs to create well thought out enterprise-level user flows & digital products at scale.
  • Design high quality multi-page sales funnels, application designs, online systems, digital campaigns, and digital assets.
  • Work with user insights from our internal marketing and optimization teams.
  • Use both quantitative and qualitative research to gain insights into customer behaviour and be able to translate the research into design.
  • Plan and conduct a variety of user testing methods, such as usability tests, card sorting exercises, user surveys, and interviews.
  • Follow UX best practices, usability heuristics, and AMA brand guidelines to create impactful digital member experiences with attention to detail and consistency.


WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • You will have a university degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field such as UX Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design or Visual Communication.
  • 5+ years with proven experience creating enterprise multi-page websites and/or mobile app design
  • Strong knowledge of technical (backend) constraints and implementation.
  • Experience creating wireframes and user flows with the ability to think wholistically about the user's journey within a digital product
  • Fluent knowledge of user behaviour, testing and UX/UI best practices across web & mobile platforms.
  • Experience working with technical (backend) constraints and implementation
  • Ability to operate in a space where goals and constraints are not yet clearly defined.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several large projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a collaborative team environment across disciplines
  • Strong communication and proficient presentation skills
  • Proven experience creating wireframes, user flows, visual designs, and mobile/desktop prototypes with clear documentation
  • Must be proficient in prototyping tools such as Figma, XD, as well as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Attention to detail and a high caliber in visual design, interaction design, and prototyping
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating knowledge of UX and visual design principles and techniques

You'll get bonus points for:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML/CSS is an asset
  • Proven experience in conducting user research and/or collaborating with internal analytics teams to understand user needs and inform design decisions.
  • You've worked in an industry with high-compliance standards to meet legal and/or regulatory requirements such as Insurance.
  • You've worked with integrated teams such as Marketing & Sales to understand their role in promoting digital products as part of the overall business strategy.
