Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior User Experience (UX) Designer with a robust background in front-end development to join our dynamic eCommerce team. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience across our digital products, driving innovation, and ensuring the seamless integration of design and development. The ideal candidate will blend strategic thinking with hands-on design skills to deliver exceptional user experiences that align with our business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product managers, developers, marketing, and other stakeholders to define and implement strategic UX solutions that drive product direction, visual appeal, and overall user experience.
  • Oversee the design process from concept to delivering final hand-off to engineering with wireframe and full design specs, ultimately ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.
  • Translate complex design specifications into efficient front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, working closely with engineers to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to optimize designs based on user needs and business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's branding and style guides, evolving the design system for consistency across all digital products.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in UX design and front-end technologies, introducing new ideas and best practices.
  • Partner with the marketing team to support web marketing projects (ie brand pages, etc) wireframing and provide guidance as a subject matter expert.
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles, ensuring user needs are prioritized in product discussions.
  • Mentor junior designers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of a scalable design system, ensuring a seamless user experience across all digital touchpoints.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Computer Science, or a related field; master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (Minimum 5+ years) in UX design, with a track record of designing successful user experiences in an eCommerce or digital product environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks like React, Angular, etc. Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Expertise in user testing methodologies, A/B testing, and usability testing tools.
  • Experience with mobile-first and responsive design principles, ensuring designs work seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Expertise in ADA compliance standards, implementing accessible design practices and code for inclusive user experiences.
  • Knowledge of advanced motion design, animations, and interaction design to enhance user engagement.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide design strategy.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Currently, S&S has a remote work policy which provides for employees to be in the office Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is subject to change based on business need.
