Position Summary
This position represents iDC Logistics in all aspects of new business development by identifying new prospective clients, acquisitions, and new strategic business opportunities. He/she will initiate new business outreach, present iDC Logistics capabilities, develop compelling partnership proposals, presentations, and financials, create RFP responses, and lead contract negotiations. The Senior Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for working with departments across the organization to identify, develop, plan, and implement new revenue generating opportunities and partnerships across the iDC Logistics portfolio of offerings.

Job Responsibilities
  • Initiates and follows up on various new business opportunities and leads.
  • Acquires detailed understanding of business opportunities that present themselves and that track with reaching our strategic plan goals.
  • Identifies prospects for privatization opportunities within the industry and develops additional revenue generating concepts with current clients.
  • Builds, retains, and leverages local influential parties to aid in the pursuit of contracts and provide local market familiarization.
  • Work with key business leaders internally to identify, devise and implement a strategy to maximize iDC Logistics resources to generate on-going incremental revenue streams from new business opportunities outside of - but related to - the core business activities of the organization.
  • Generate inter-departmental support to ensure that proposals, projects, presentations, sales, and marketing-related correspondence for new business ideas are created, reviewed, and assessed and presented to the CEO for further action, if necessary ("due diligence").
  • Assist in the development of business plans, pro forma projections, and other relevant business documents (e.g., project feasibility studies, etc.).
  • Work across the organization to mobilize relevant business resources (e.g., Finance, Commercial Partnerships, Premium Sales, Marketing) for new and on-going projects.
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of approved new business ideas including, but not limited to, project management, hiring/staffing, and other related responsibilities; for example, reviewing and developing contracts working directly with general counsel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Seeks out and listens to others' ideas and suggestions. Provides clear and concise feedback to direct reports, peers and senior leaders.
  • Ability to effect change and implement new ideas to support business operations.


Minimum Required Qualifications
  • B.A., B.S. An M.A., M.S or M.B.A degree preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of business experience, preferably with strategic business development background.
  • At least 7-10 years of Freight Forwarding & International Logistics experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in managing sales and operations teams.
  • Experience in all facets of Import and Export operations (Air, Ocean & Customs Brokerage).
  • Ability to bring sales relationships and opportunities to the Company.
  • Prior P&L Management Experience.
  • Solid existing relationships within the industry.
  • Prior Sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, manage, lead and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Needs to be an intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Must have worked with Cargowise before


Skills and Competencies
  • Understanding of International and Domestic entities and programs including but not limited to: TSA, C-TPAT, FMCSA, FMC, IATA.
  • Superior verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for customer service.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to effectively relate to all levels of employees, and build and maintain successful relationships
  • Strong leadership communication skills
  • Highly Proficient PC skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email management systems


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20-30%
