Henderson Companies is seeking a Sr. Vice President to join the Henderson Building Solutions team in Lenexa, KS. The Sr Vice President (SVP) of Henderson Building Solutions (HBS) sets the direction and coordination of the entity in national engineering-led design build (ELDB) construction projects, both new and retro commissioning services and diversifying the HBS portfolio of clients and industries in conjunction with the Henderson Companies CEO and Chief Growth and Strategy Officers. They facilitate the overall company strategy, creating a unified client experience across all Henderson services. This position is operational and external facing, developing and maintaining relationships with clients. The SVP of HBS compiles and reports revenue and financial forecasting to the Executive Committee in conjunction with the CFO and is accountable for achieving growth targets and the overall financial success of the HBS business. They oversee the Vice Presidents and various business line directors, setting goals and expectations for attaining strategic initiatives. They execute the overall company strategy of expanding the book of business by working with Henderson Engineers and their liaisons to identify, price and land work driving additional top line growth and are responsible for the cultural health of the entity in alignment with overall annual goals. This position also leans into the broader Henderson Companies growth strategy with an emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and the client experience, while embracing the Henderson Companies vision, purpose, and core values.

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, business administration or related field required. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 15 years of experience inside the construction industry required, including10 years of leadership experience.
- Strong history of developing business that is profitable and strategic for continued growth.
- Demonstrated history of identifying and closing new business using a consultative, multi-discipline team approach.
- Proven ability to leverage relationships with principals, developers, vendors, general contractors, and trade partners to inform of current projects and potential new business.
- Proven ability to create and leverage win themes for large or complex project pursuits across multiple vertical markets.
- Ability to establish clear expectations, clarify roles and team/individual goals, align performance metrics with appropriate tasks and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to drive results and business objectives.
- Exercises strong business and financial acumen and promotes cross-functional analysis and decision-making.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry specific licenses preferred.
- GC qualified preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
HBS Strategy
- Researches the competitive environment to create growth opportunities and defines and informs HBS stakeholders of strategic business decisions.
- Maintains a strong understanding of all Henderson Companies entities as well as all vertical markets the firm engages in, working to diversify our service lines.
- Leads and facilitates HBS leadership strategic planning sessions centered around growth, client development and performance and staffing projections, and oversees and is accountable for achievement of defined goals.
- Develops and manages the HBS budget for approval by the financial oversight committee.
- Embraces both sustainability and technology as industry differentiators in each business vertical.
Executive Leadership
- Partners with and collaborates on the executive committee, facilitating commitment to the Henderson Companies strategic plan, vision, purpose and core values and necessary actions within HBS.
- Champions the ESOP business model and keeps HBS leadership informed of any relevant changes or discussions.
- Communicates strategic decisions to HBS leadership and oversees implementation of strategic plans across the company to ensure effective execution and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Serves as a strategic and operational leader with a partner-based approach to achieving business goals, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Serves as a partner to organizational leadership, sector leadership teams and other leaders on strategic initiatives.
- Directs the HBS leadership team to perform successful projects from pre-construction to warranty through pertinent company processes and procedures.
- Provides strategic input in the evaluation of equipment and subcontractor proposals and reviews and finalizes equipment pre-purchase bid packages. Ensures financial health of all projects including accurate forecasting, positive cash flow, project completion billings, timely accounts receivable and achieved revenue targets.
- Ensures employees and subcontractors are representing the company in a manner consistent with Henderson core values.
- Leads efforts to improve projects, procedures, etc. and ensures safety and quality standards are consistently adhered to.
- Manages HBS Vice Presidents, ensuring accountability for their performance and goals through development initiatives and coaching.
Business Development & Client Experience
- Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and organic and repeat business opportunities.
- Actively involved in client development of key strategic clients and maintaining high level relationships.
- Ensures project progress is captured and shared with the marketing and business development teams to help drive future top-line business growth.
- Maintains a focus and clear vision of the full client life cycle inside HBS and effectively communicates to leaders and employees across HBS to create a more cohesive client experience.
- Establishes positive relationships across Henderson companies.
- Works with the Marketing and Business Development Directors regarding the HBS client diversification strategy.
