Senior Wireless Communication Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Wireless Communication Systems Engineer to join our team, dedicated to innovating and advancing the field of wireless communications. This role entails participation in all phases of technology projects including planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation. Our ideal candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams and engage in rigorous system performance evaluations while supporting ongoing R&D efforts. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of three days on-site.

Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • System design and comprehensive requirement specification.
  • Development of algorithms, conducting simulations, implementation, and rigorous testing.
  • Conduct system performance simulations, benchmarking, and testing to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Support in fixed-point modeling and provide FPGA design and verification support.
  • Liaise with FPGA and Software development teams to facilitate hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
  • Lead a team of engineers across various disciplines to drive product and feature development.
  • Manage development schedules and tasks, ensuring project milestones and objectives are met.
  • Design, execute, and participate in lab and field testing operations, actively troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Prepare technical materials and documentation to support project delivery and implementation.
  • Engage in R&D business development activities and capture new growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teams to ideate on future enhancements and strategic directions for technological advancements.
  • Infrequent travel to support client interactions, and test and demonstration events.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Wireless Communications and Signal Processing or a closely related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems.
  • Demonstrated participation in the complete technology development cycle from design through field testing.
  • Deep understanding of RF propagation, channel modeling, and critical components of digital communication systems, including RF subsystems and channel coding.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM, and in modeling and mitigating RF impairments.
  • Expertise in MATLAB for programming and simulation purposes.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract obligations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with wireless mobile ad-hoc networking, medium access, and routing algorithms.
  • Knowledge of cognitive radio, spectrum and interference mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in RF sensing, signal detection, and classification.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate findings and advancements.
