How your role will add to the story:
The Service & Parts Senior Specialist optimizes inventory, enhances supply chain performance, and ensures regulatory compliance. This role develops strategic inventory plans to support sales, recalls, and customer service while leveraging data insights for continuous improvement. As the Dangerous Goods (DG) expert, it ensures compliance with transportation regulations, mitigates risks, and advises internal teams. Acting as the primary liaison with Transport Canada and safety teams, it safeguards seamless and compliant operations

A day in the life
- Lead and oversee scrapping processes to Germany and local obsolescence transfers, ensuring full compliance with corporate directives, regulatory requirements, and financial efficiency while optimizing cost recovery and supporting Mercedes-Benz Canada's inventory objectives.
- Manage all aspects of Dangerous Goods (DG) compliance, acting as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and ensuring adherence to international (IATA, IMDG), federal (TDG), and local transportation regulations.
- Supervise DG vendors responsible for classification, audits, and compliance, ensuring strict regulatory adherence, safety standards, and environmental compliance across all logistics operations.
- Develop and implement advanced methodologies for vendor buybacks, inter-PDC transfers (CA01 & CA02), and inventory rationalization, optimizing cost efficiency and long-term inventory management.
- Drive the execution of inventory reporting frameworks and forecasting strategies, providing critical analysis to GLC Material & Inventory Controlling while aligning inventory planning with corporate financial goals and global targets.
- Implement data-driven inventory management techniques, leveraging predictive analytics to enhance inventory turnover, minimize obsolescence, and support corporate supply chain objectives.
- Spearhead automation of inventory reporting solutions by utilizing Power BI, SAP, and data visualization tools to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure regulatory approvals, equivalency certificates, and environmental permits are maintained, proactively mitigating compliance risks and ensuring uninterrupted operations.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Parts Logistics, Safety Advisors, Compliance, and Environmental teams, integrating DG compliance and inventory management strategies to maintain operational excellence.
- Represent Mercedes-Benz Canada in DG industry meetings, compliance audits, and partnerships with MBUSA, MBUSI, and regulatory bodies (e.g., Transport Canada) to align corporate compliance strategies with evolving regulations.

Qualifikationen Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
- College or University diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Math, Business, or a related field; additional certifications in Dangerous Goods (DG) handling or transportation safety are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably within the automotive or supply chain sector.
- Expertise in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management, with strong financial acumen and proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Power BI.
- In-depth knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) compliance and transportation regulations, including Transport Canada, IATA, IMDG, TDG, and DOT, ensuring regulatory adherence and risk management.
- Experience in hazardous materials handling, packaging, and international transportation, maintaining safety and compliance with global standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data analytics tools to assess risks, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
- Effective communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to safety standards, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
