About Scottsdale Bible Church (SBC):

SBC's main campus is in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona. Scottsdale is annually rated among the nation's most desirable communities in which to live, visit, and conduct business. God has faithfully grown SBC from a humble beginning of 13 people in 1962 to more than 6500 meeting weekly on four campuses. With plans to start other multi-site campuses in the coming years, we continue to press forward to take the message of Jesus into our communities throughout the Valley!

As the Shea Men's & Marriage Pastor you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on the Vision, Mission and Values of SBC. In this role, you will report to the Men's and Marriage Team Lead and are responsible for supporting, encouraging, and transforming families to live in authentic Christian community and to be more fully reflective of Christ.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will assist the Men's and Marriage Team Lead and partner with the Shea Adult Ministry Coordinators to:
  • Ensure that the Shea Campus Men's & Marriage Ministry vision supports SBC's Vision, Mission, and Values
  • Create and communicate the comprehensive vision of Men's & Marriage Ministry to Shea Campus staff and volunteers engaged in the ministries
  • Engage and direct volunteer leaders for the Shea Campus Men's & Marriage Ministry teams
  • Guide couples/parents to model their marriage after God's Word (through training, encouraging, and counseling)
  • Teach and train young men in the biblical foundation for marriage
  • Support Preparing for Marriage for SBC and work with the Men's & Marriage Pastors from each campus and the Adult Central Coordinator team on the planning and ongoing delivery of the curriculum
  • Support the annual Men's Retreat and engage with the Men's & Marriage Pastors from each campus and the Adult Coordinator team to plan and execute the retreat
  • Create and host Shea Campus outreach events for men and couples
  • Engage men and couples into an authentic community through Shea Campus Men's or Marriage programming and events
  • Establish and monitor annual Shea Campus Men's & Marriage ministry budgets and spending wisely
  • Be responsible for the ongoing recruitment, training, and appreciation of volunteers for the ministry
  • Commitment to developing volunteers who move through the PEO process - Participation, Engagement and Ownership
  • Maintain updated serving teams of all your volunteers in Rock

Other Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Ministry Leader for Scottsdale Bible Church and works alongside other ministries giving support and encouragement and being a team player
  • Assist SBC's broader pastoral team in the development of church-wide ministry goals
  • Available for hospital visitations, presiding over wedding and funeral services, and family emergencies
  • Available for Pastor of the Day (POD) duties
  • Available to other church ministries as a resource and assistance
  • Available to teach Sunday community groups, small groups, and other opportunities as appropriate
  • Related duties or special projects as assigned

Skills you need to succeed:

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient knowledge of the Bible and theology
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Work on Sundays

  • Regular attender and SBC member, or willing to become a member

Education and/or experience:
  • Ministry experience in a large church
  • A level of education (or working toward) and experience commensurate with the position: Master of Arts or Master of Divinity or equivalent
  • Theological training
  • 5+ years related ministry leadership experience in a large church

This position requires in-office work and does not qualify for a remote arrangement.
