In this position, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and industry knowledge to coordinate production efforts of all assigned subcontractors and Birdon direct trades on assigned vessel(s).

This position is based in New Orleans, LA and will report to the Deputy Program Manager. Birdon's senior management team, including Divisional Managers, may provide additional direction and duties from time to time.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills are necessary as direct contact with Birdon clients, prospective clients, and production team is an important aspect of this position. POSITION OVERVIEW
In this position, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and industry knowledge to coordinate production efforts of all assigned subcontractors and Birdon direct trades on assigned vessel(s).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Production Manager to manage all production crafts to maximize production and monitor and adjust manpower to maintain project schedules.
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Comply with Company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties.
- Perform additional assignments as assigned.
- Coordinate all activities onboard assigned vessel(s).
- Hold daily deck plate coordination meetings as required.
- Maintain transparent customer deck plate relation by performing daily vessel(s) walks with customer representatives.
- Attend QA Checkpoints to ensure program requirements are being met.
- De-conflict various issues onboard vessel(s) between different trades or subcontractor inline with program focus of budget and schedule concerns.
- Liaison with Subcontract management to manage various subcontractors by producing and maintaining logs, coordinating subcontractors logistical needs and requirements, ensure subcontractor is performing to the assigned schedule and are providing required periodic schedule updates.
- Responsible for enforcing house keeping standard onboard vessel.
- Perform daily safety walks with safety representative and ensure non-compliant observations are remedied in a timely manner by the responsible party.
- Produce Daily Lift plan with priorities to prioritize the crane lifts across all trades and subcontractors.
- Produce Overtime Reports prior to every weekend for approval.
- Ability to participate and add value to design reviews from a producibility view.
- Ability to lead and participate in build strategy reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
ESSENTIAL:
- Minimum five (5) years' experience with Production Supervision of which a minimum of three (3) years in shipbuilding
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to supervise and coach individuals
- Proactive manner demonstrating interpersonal skills.
- Requires knowledge of and ship terminology, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, Project and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to manage all yard production operations to maximize productivity.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection and work boots
