Position Summary: The Shop Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, budgeting, forecasting and managing shop-built fabrication projects, while keeping the customer informed of project status and meeting estimated cost.

- Manage all aspects of projects from business development, estimating, contract review, project execution, quality management, and financial performance.
- Business development: Develop new, and manage existing client relationships through client marketing and project interactions; identify new sales opportunities with clients; lead all aspects of proposal development and submission including project planning, budgeting and scheduling; establish critical project objectives and performances with clients; lead contract preparation and negotiations.
- Project execution: Lead all aspects of project execution including estimating, schedule, and budget; ensure quality control of deliverables: analyze and communicate project status, risks, schedule, and costs to hire all internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviews project proposals or plans to determine the time frame, project cost limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Bid preparation of specifications, drawings, budgets, schedules, submittals, RFI's etc.
- Participate as a team member for design reviews; attend all necessary meetings on current and upcoming projects.
- Conduct project status meetings; coordinate project schedule, status and budget between the contractor and client; confirm and coordinate milestones and job needs.
- Review and authorizes material orders and ensures arrival and distribution in a timely matter.
- Prepare and follows through on final job acceptance ensuring final punch list items are resolved.
- Ensure customer needs/issues are resolved and communicated in an effective and timely manner.
Education and Qualications:
- Specific Experience- Minimum of 3 years' experience in industry of steel fabrication, 2 years estimating experience. Candidate must have estimating experience with either ASME Pressure Vessels, API Tanks or Both. Ability to work with limited supervision and in assigned timeframes.
- Education-College degree (2 or 4 year) in Technology. Related field preferred, but not required if candidate has intensive industry experience.
- Location- Baxter Springs area required. Very limited travel.
- Computer Skills- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with customer's concerning information, requirements, and project approach.
