Job Summary - a concise overview of the job
The Cost Accountant role is responsible for updating standards, analyzing product costs, communicating price changes to Director of Finance and Director of Procurement, and invoicing customers for product. The position requires the ability to handle numerous ongoing customer API and conversion true-up reconciliations. The position requires the ability to work with various departments during the budget process and when working on ad hoc projects. All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures.
Scope of Authority - span of control (work unit, site, department, division, etc.), monetary value of budget/spend authority (capital, operating, etc.), P&L responsibility, etc.

- Account reconciliations
- Journal creation, supporting journals and posting

- Month-end closings and annual budgeting
- Key role in testing SAP application changes

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and certifications required for the job
- BS in Accounting
- Strong knowledge of SAP
- CMA a plus
- Must have 5-years standard costing experience and strong familiarity with PPV, scrap and revaluation
- At least 10-year in accounting, including a solid background in A/R and A/P
Knowledge
Proficiency in a body of information required for the job
e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.
- Must have 5-years SAP system experience
