Title: Site Quality Assurance (QA) Manager
Position Type: Contract

Reports to: VP, Construction
Status: Non-exempt

Key Project Requirements:
Prior experience working with GE LM6000 and LM2500Xpress aeroderivative gas turbines in a construction and commissioning setting required.
Strong understanding of site-based QA/QC programs, including inspections, documentation, and regulatory compliance relating to construction and commissioning.
Demonstrated leadership of quality teams and interfacing with client, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors.
Proficiency in local construction codes and welding standards; capable of managing site documentation and audits.

Job Summary:
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Quality Assurance Manager to support the construction and commissioning phases of a major power project in Greenville, SC. The Site Quality Assurance Manager will oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for GE LM6000 and LM2500Xpress turbine systems. This role is responsible for establishing and implementing quality systems, managing inspections, coordinating compliance audits, and ensuring all site work meets client, regulatory, and client standards. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Construction, and serves as the on-site quality lead interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all quality processes are implemented and followed in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
Lead on-site quality actions and inspections; provide real-time oversight and coaching to subcontractors and team members.
Represent GE Quality on site with the customer, regulatory authorities, and third-party agencies.
Establish and manage site quality documentation structure, including ITPs, ITPLs, and Quality Plans.
Coordinate and lead site audits, spot checks, and welding inspections with internal and third-party resources.
Track and manage quality records, inspection documentation, and punch list completion in the site archive/database.
Provide quality training and induction to site personnel; enforce compliance with approved procedures.
Collaborate with commissioning and construction teams to support walkdowns, handover documentation, and system turnover milestones.

Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience with QA/QC systems on GE LM6000 and LM2500Xpress turbine projects required.
Hands-on experience working on construction and commissioning sites, especially during turbine installs.
Strong working knowledge of welding inspections, codes, and structural quality compliance.
Ability to manage document control, inspection scheduling, and non-conformance resolution processes.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and electronic document control tools.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills; capable of leading cross-functional collaboration on site.
Willingness to commit to full project lifecycle, from site mobilization through turnover.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stand, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs in an outdoor/construction environment.
Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety boots, eye protection, and gloves.
Ability to work extended hours and adapt to changing priorities during construction and commissioning phases.

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or high school diploma with extensive relevant experience.
Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in industrial construction or power generation projects.
Prior experience managing site quality for gas turbine projects required.
Formal QA/QC certifications (e.g., CWI, NACE) or welding supervisor experience is strongly preferred.
