Job Description
Job Title: Sleep Technician
Job Specialty: Sleep Disorders
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shifts, Sunday-Thursday; 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience
License: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have: Willingness to work non-consecutive shifts, ability to handle both adult and pediatric patients
Job Description:
- Perform diagnostic sleep testing, including all Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy titration.
- Responsible for checking in patients, setting up rooms, patient hookup, charting, and cleaning equipment.
- Utilize computerized charting systems such as Natus XLTech Sleep Works and ResMed S9 Devices.
- Will work as part of a team; employee will not work alone and no on-call work is required. Work nights only, Sunday through Thursday.
- No floating to other units or departments; work is concentrated in a 10-bed sleep lab, with two beds specifically for pediatric testing.
- Participate in a modified Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training and one shift of orientation with another sleep technician.
- Manage a patient ratio of 2:1 for adults and 1:1 for pediatric patients younger than three years old.
- Perform various types of sleep studies including Diagnostic, Split night, CPAP, BiPAP, BiPAP with a rate, ASV, and O2 titrations.
- Ensure compliance with flu vaccination requirements.
- Must be able to work in an off-campus lab and bring own food/lunch due to no cafeteria access.
- Maintain professionalism while adhering to dark grey scrub dress code.
