Overview

As the SOC 2 Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing our SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliance program. You will work closely with our engineering, security, legal, and operations teams to ensure that our systems, processes, and policies meet industry security and compliance standards. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who thrives in building compliance programs from the ground up.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead SOC 2 Compliance Initiatives: Develop, implement, and oversee the SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliance roadmap.
  • Security & Compliance Frameworks: Ensure alignment with SOC 2 principles and integrate best practices from ISO 27001, NIST, and other relevant standards.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify compliance gaps, security risks, and remediation plans.
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Draft, update, and enforce security and compliance policies across the company.
  • Audit Preparation & Management: Collaborate with auditors, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to facilitate SOC 2 audits and assessments.
  • Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management: Ensure compliance requirements extend to vendors and third-party integrations.
  • Training & Awareness: Educate teams on security best practices and compliance responsibilities.
  • Tooling & Automation: Evaluate and implement tools to streamline compliance monitoring, evidence collection, and reporting.


What We're Looking For:
  • 3-7 years of experience in SOC 2 compliance, IT security, risk management, or similar roles.
  • Deep knowledge of SOC 2 principles (Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, Privacy).
  • Experience working with fast-paced startups or technology companies, ideally in AI, SaaS, or cloud-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SOC 2 audits, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Ability to develop and enforce policies that scale with company growth.
  • Familiarity with security tooling such as Drata, Vanta, or Secureframe is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate non-technical teams on compliance requirements.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with AI, ML, or SaaS startups.
  • Exposure to cloud security best practices (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Prior work with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Previous involvement in SOC 2 Type II audits and continuous monitoring.
