The Position
Beltrami County is creating an eligibility list for a full-time, benefited Social Worker assigned to Child Protection Investigation/Family Assessments. This position is responsible for assessing and investigating reports of child maltreatment, making safety plans for children, and providing ongoing case management to families.
Performs intermediate professional work coordinating and delivering services to clients, evaluating and assessing the success of services being provided, recommending other services that may be useful, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Social Services Program Manager.

Essential Functions
Assess the psychosocial, behavioral, medical and safety needs of clients and families to coordinate appropriate services to meet client and family needs, via ongoing communication with clients, families and providers.
Create and implement detailed service plans to manage all goals, services and resources specific to each client, while maintaining paper and electronic files to meet federal, state and local mandates and timelines.
Analyze and investigate critical circumstances and manage crisis situations where imminent danger to self or others is apparent or possible.
Prepare extensive and comprehensive court reports, court petitions, testimony and appear personally to represent the County.
Collaborate with State, Federal, Local, Tribal and Insurance agencies regarding policies, funding and service delivery.
Calculate, manage and disburse allocated funds for health and human service programs while working within budget constraints.
Recruit, license, train and support service providers.
Participate, organize and provide ongoing training to increase community knowledge and skills.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions, frequently requires walking and occasionally requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to blood borne pathogens and domestic animals; and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
