Role overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solution Architect specializing in Payment Systems to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our organization, focusing on designing and implementing innovative payment solutions that meet the diverse needs of our clients. As a Solution Architect, you will work closely with multi-functional teams, including product management, software development, and operations, to craft robust architectural solutions that drive scalable and secure payment processing. Apply your expertise in different payment technologies, industry standards, and effective strategies to create innovative solutions. These solutions will enhance user experience and ensure compliance with regulations.

What you'll do
Designing, developing, and implementing software solutions to address complex business problems in in scope of Payments platform
Design and execute on key project architectural decisions that define the future technology vision.
Define technical roadmaps that align the product deliverables.
Work closely with Product, Enterprise Architecture, and Engineering teams while designing and building solutions.
Conduct architecture evaluations and trade-off analyses documenting architecture stakeholders and their concerns, with in-depth reviews of costs and benefits, risks and implications.
Analyses impact relevant to Payments Canada regulatory requirements and payment industry changes related to SWIFT, LVTS, and ACSS/USBE.
Ensure technology solutions are aligned with the standards and guidelines issued by Enterprise Architecture, Payments Canada, and other regulatory bodies.

What you bring to the role
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in the payments domain.
Extensive experience with API discovery, evaluation & solution design
Strong knowledge of Technology Exposures: Java/J2EE suite, DevOps, Middleware, GenAI & Cloud
Define solution delivery roadmap & plans

We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants throughout Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $160,000 to $210,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
