The Google Augmented Reality team is a group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in embedded systems development.
- 2 years of experience in image processing.
- Experience programming in C .
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience in one of the following areas: camera systems, embedded systems, computer vision, performance optimization.
- Experience developing high-performance computer vision systems for real-time applications on mobile platforms.
- Knowledge of Video/Audio encoding/decoding.
- Skilled in using C (for camera/image processing/dataset tools), Python (image processing for tools).

- Integrate camera sensors from different vendor stacks, video/audio/data recording and playback design, and development in the XR software stack.
- Design and implement integration pipelines, while ensuring production-quality code and system-wide performance optimization on immersive devices.
- Work across different developing teams, including Android, ML/perception, SystemUI, Engprod, and various external partners.
