The team will be focused on designing and implementing solutions to help Last Mile delivery associates and the Amazon Logistics (AMZL) central operations team to scale and operate efficiently in the increasingly complex delivery network.
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with exceptional technical skills and a passion for delivering great software to join our team. We have among the most complex vehicle routing problems in the industry, including large, capacitive, commingled, and time windowed routing problems. We dispatch thousands of drivers a day to carry millions of packages to our customers. If you are a creative software engineer who thrives on complex problems, have a knack for problem solving and relish the challenge of operating complex mission critical this is the job for you.
You will be involved in the deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You will learn about Amazon's logistics network, interact with AMZL central operations and peer engineering teams to build optimized systems, and have the autonomy to deliver software that has a broad impact. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. Will should thrive by working closely with their peers in a group of smart and talented engineers. It is still Day 1 in the Last Mile Technology space!
About the team
Global Outbound Automation and Tooling is comprised of three two-pizza teams who are collectively responsible for making sure that routes are planned for deliveries to millions of Amazon customers each day. As part of the Last Mile (LM) organization we drive the vision of Amazon logistics operations world-wide. Our focus is on delivering global solutions with regional flexibility, which we achieve through close collaboration with other LM teams, Tech SMEs and our customers in Operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
