As our new SDM, you'll guide a talented team of engineers who are passionate about building large-scale platforms and implementing agentic GenAI solutions. You'll be the architect of change, leading the development of tools that transform how AWS professionals interact with and understand data.

Key job responsibilities
1. Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in building large-scale internal developer tools and infrastructure that power AWS's analytics ecosystem
2. Drive the implementation of GenAI-based agentic solutions and innovative features to transform how AWS handles analytical content
3. Collaborate with stakeholders across AWS to gather requirements, define roadmaps, and deliver scalable solutions
4. Make strategic technology decisions while balancing feature development and operational excellence
5. Establish and maintain high-quality standards for system design, implementation, and delivery
6. Drive mechanisms for measuring service behavior, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving critical issues
7. Manage cross-team dependencies and serve as the primary point of contact for management escalations

You will have significant influence on our overall strategy as you work with a small team of subject matter experts and engineers to define features, system architecture, best practices. ADT is the data technologies team within the cross-functional AWS Analytics Engineering (AAE) org comprised of software development engineers, data engineers, business intelligence engineers, and science-focused teams with applied scientists and data scientists.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market.
