2HB Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer to support our customer in Mclean, Virginia.
Brief Summary of Work:
The US government (USG) requires the Candidate Team who will design and manage systems integration for the aggregation, standardization, correlation, and exploitation of technical data. The team will interact heavily with data scientists and developers to model data and utilize the Sponsor's big data program to create custom data exploitation tools. The USG requires technical outreach, information exchange, and technical support services for a mission-impact focused office.
Critical Core Competency: (Software Engineering Candidate should have "Examples" of some Years of Experience in these areas)
Cloud Services: Experience deploying, operating, and maintaining web services within the Sponsor's cloud environment.
Information Systems Security: Experience operating as part of the Sponsor's A&A process and supporting/advising the team appropriately
Applications Development: Experience enhancing, operating, and maintaining UIs
Data Engineering/Modeling: Experience evaluating data, creating new data models, and translating data into existing data models
Systems Administration: Experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure associated with systems or capabilities
Required Skills: (Software Engineering Candidate should have "Examples" of some Years of Experience in these areas)

  • Demonstrated "Targeting Experience" working in a software development environment (Target Sets could be people, places (Geographical), banking (Threat Finance), etc...)
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing from a virtual desktop.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring software for automated deployments in a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using JavaScript, AngularJS, and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with MySQL, SquirrelSQL, or other relational DBs.
  • Demonstrated experience using Apache Spark, Tomcat, and Spring Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience using Elasticsearch.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and completing the standup of a COTS tool in a cloud environment.

Mandatory Skills (Team Level):
  • Demonstrated experience identifying relevant technical data.
  • Demonstrated experience in acquiring and assessing relevant data.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building data models of technical data in line with existing data standards.
  • Demonstrated experience exploiting large collections of technical data.
  • Demonstrated experience building connections across technical data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience building applications for the exploitation of technical data.
  • Demonstrated experience developing analytic platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience building user interfaces for analytic platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining databases.
  • Demonstrated experience controlling access to data items according to enterprise security models.
  • Demonstrated experience storing, searching, and retrieving large amounts of data.
  • Demonstrated experience exploiting data that is not in the English language.

Desired Skills (Team Level):
  • Demonstrated experience operating in line with national security priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience connecting Sponsor's existing technology services and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating data from multiple Sponsor holdings for use in operational support efforts and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience using project management or task tracking and version control tools, such as GitHub and JIRA.
Other Skills: (Team Level)
  • Shall design and guide data scientists in the aggregation of various data collections.
  • Shall develop a common data format and align all data to the format.
  • Shall develop advanced analytic tools and techniques to support the understanding of the data.
  • Shall assess and manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Shall develop and apply data exploitation models and devise creative data exploitation strategies.
  • Shall engage with stakeholders to determine requirements, analyze problems, evaluate options, and offer Information Technology (IT)-based recommendations and options.
  • Shall advise stakeholders on IT methods and data needed or available to satisfy requirements.
  • Shall integrate, analyze, evaluate, and assess quantitative data, using statistical software, computer models, geospatial models, software languages, mathematical models, or machine learning, to contribute to or develop IT solutions to requirements such as software tools, analytic models, or reports.
  • Shall prepare and communicate the workings and results of computational models and tools.
