Technical Skills:
Strong technical expertise in most of the following: Hadoop (Cloudera distribution), Apache Hive, Apache Spark, Apache Hbase, Apache Sqoop, Kafka, Impala, SQL and NO SQL Data stores, Linux
Experience in data migration from relational databases to Hadoop HDFS.
4+ years of hands on development experience in JAVA / Scala / Python
Must have good understanding of compression and file formats
Good hands on Java experience
Experience with NoSQL databases- HBase
Application performance tuning and troubleshooting
Participate in analysis of data stores and help with data analytics
Assist and support proof of concepts as Big Data technology evolves.
Ensure solutions developed adhere to security and data entitlements
Propose best practices/standards
Translate, load and present disparate data sets in multiple formats/sources including JSON
Translate functional and technical requirements into detail design
5+ years of SQL (practical) experience
Must have worked in agile methodology (preferably scrum)
Experience in Azure is a plus.
