Software Engineer II - Backend

We are actively looking for highly motivated and talented software engineers to join our dynamic backend development team. You will have the opportunity to work on portions of a large, distributed real-time streaming data platform, handling vast amounts of data in real time. This role is ideal for early-career engineers eager to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment.

What Success Will Look Like:

• Collaborate with a team to design and build scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for real-time data processing and analytics.
• Help maintain and improve backend systems that support low-latency queries and data storage across diverse domains.
• Contribute to the development of algorithms and the underlying systems that power our platform.
• Build and deploy ETL pipelines using various open-source frameworks, ensuring robustness and scalability.
• Participate in team discussions, share ideas, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the project.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies in distributed systems and stream processing frameworks.

Who You Are & What You've Done:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages, such asC++, Rust, Scala, Java, or similar.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, databases, or stream processing is a strong plus.
• Understanding of modern software development processes and tools (e.g., version control, CI/CD).
• Motivated to learn and work with new technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Able to effectively collaborate within teams, receive feedback constructively, and support team success.

Preferred:

• Experience with or interest in real-time data platforms or distributed systems.
• A passion for open-source projects or contributions is a plus.

The expected salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $170,000 + equity + benefits. Compensation is determined by numerous factors such as your qualifications, experience, relevant education or training, and work location.
