VIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their growing team. A successful candidate will contribute domain expertise and make high-impact individual contributions related to UI engine development and optimization. This position will not have direct reports and is an Individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in the office.

What You Will Do
- Make software engineering contributions that pull from experience developing applications in a Linux environment.
- Contribute to software architecture design and documentation for individual components as well as larger systems.
- Design solutions that meet memory and performance requirements of the target SOC.
- By 3 months you will be able to triage bugs and implement feature details by cooperating with other teams to gather information and expected behaviors
- By 6 months you will understand our UI engine architecture in detail and what improvements need to be made for a better user experience.
- By 1 year you will be a feature owner that drives development of new engine features to support exciting new app offerings.
About You
- MUST HAVE:
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
- 3+ years of experience with C++ development or similar programming language.
- PREFERRED/NICE TO HAVE:
- You care for attention to detail and a polished user experience that will delight users.
- You are a great written and verbal communicator: you're able to effectively communicate abstract ideas, bridge gaps in understanding between teams, and communicate to create a shared vision.
- You are quick to understand the history and strengths of existing systems; slow to introduce "yet-another-solution."
- 1+ years Consumer Electronics engineering experience.
- Proficient in developing and optimizing for memory constrained systems.
- Knowledgeable with utilizing GPUs in embedded environments.
- Knowledge of embedded UI.
