About the Role
Data is a critical asset at Windfall Bio. Our products depend on collecting and processing data throughout the "Methane Capture to Value" pipeline to generate accurate, verifiable insights, and integrate with carbon credit platforms. A big part of our data stream involves processing data captured by methane sensors (IOT) at the edge.

About you
First and foremost, you're a senior software engineer who knows how to ship production-quality software. You are a software generalist who can dive deep into complex multi-dimensional problems across the gamut of specialties whether it is sensor data streams, data processing, cloud services or edge applications. You can cut through the ambiguity and keep focus on the top priorities. You understand that code will have to be refactored. You can balance tech debt and time-to-market with infrastructure robustness.

Location
The base salary range for this full-time position is $150-$210k plus equity and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.

- Manage sensor data collection and aggregation at the edge and in the cloud
- Solve business-critical complex technical problems related to data, software & AI
- Design, build, deploy and operate production quality software services
- Collaborate closely with scientists and bioengineers across the company

About you

- 5+ years of programming experience, preferably in Python
- Experience building services on at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience building applications on mobile or embedded
- Experience building containerized applications
- Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with scientists, bioengineers and software engineers
- Thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous, high-growth environment
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Kubeflow
- Are familiar working with Terraform or other IaC tools
- Are familiar with building AI applications and MLOps

- Hybrid, minimum 3 days in week in office San Mateo, Bay Area, California. Remote only maybe considered under very special circumstances.
