Overview:

The Software Product Owner acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that our software products meet business goals and customer needs. You will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, designing useful and usable product features and enhancements, and ensuring our product exceeds our customer's expectations. The Motivity product owner is a combination of business analyst and user experience designer who is able to craft solutions, workflows, and highly usable user interfaces for our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into user stories, designs, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with development teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and providing ongoing support during the entire SDLC.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for customer and user needs.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
  • Participate in planning, backlog grooming, product review meetings, and other project activities.
  • Ensure that the final product meets quality standards and business needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and design an easy to use and effective user experience.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, competitor products, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct user research to ensure a clear understanding of the customer need and to validate our solutions
  • Participate in defining beta testing plans, success criteria, and collection of feedback
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that product changes are accurately represented in user facing documentation
Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, User Experience Designer or similar role in software development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g. Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Ability to write clear and detailed design specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, or similar product management tools.
  • Technical background or understanding of software development processes is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS and/or distributed systems
  • Experience in mobile applications
  • Knowledge of user interface design methodology, guidelines, and practice
  • Experience in health and/or medical software systems
  • Experience in ABA health technology preferred but not required
