Job Title: Software Systems Engineer

Location: Mission, KS

Job Summary: The Software Systems Engineer is a product focused key role in the Engineering and Software Systems group, and responsible for the development of code, procedures, and virtualization technologies. This role serves as a product technical resource that performs a variety of tasks in network administration, system administration, and virtual infrastructure. The successful candidate would have a vast knowledge of ScriptPro products, write code, technical documents and serve as a technical liaison to other ScriptPro departments.

Reports To: Director, Software Systems

Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. This role is on a hybrid work schedule; mix of remote and in office (minimum 3 days in office per week). Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is an essential function of every job at ScriptPro.

Remote Work Requirements:

• Must have high-speed reliable internet access
• Must have a distraction free home office workspace
• Must be willing to participate in video virtual meetings (camera on)

Scope of the Role:

• Create and implement configuration procedures for windows operating systems and applications
• Configure and manage test systems as needed
• Work with hardware that is located on ScriptPro campus
• Administration of Microsoft Windows operating systems with some Linux
• Use automated testing tools to test ScriptPro products
• Perform, review, and remediate security scans of systems
• Develop automation of system configuration.
• Serve as a technical liaison for other ScriptPro departments
• Manage Nutanix and VMware Infrastructure
• Other Duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS or 6+ years equivalent work experience
• 6+ years troubleshooting windows client and operating systems and Linux (RHEL or CentOS)
• 4+ years writing technical documents
• 2+ years working across different groups and departments
• 1+ years with Windows PowerShell, Ruby, or batch scripting
• Experience with computer hardware and peripherals a plus

Working Conditions:

This position operates in an office environment. Routine use of standard office equipment is required. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and expected to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and reach. Ability to learn and solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions is required.
