Skills Required (Bare Minimum):
5+ years as a software engineer
5+ years' experience with compiled/interpreted object-oriented languages (i.e. Python, JavaScript, Java, Scala, C# etc.)
Proficiency in Linux/Unix-like operating systems
Demonstrated knowledge in networking (i.e. MQTT, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH)
Demonstrated desire to continuously learn and understand new technologies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Nice to Have:
Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, IoT, Greengrass, etc.)
Demonstrated experience with developing with technologies routinely found in IoT platforms (i.e. machine learning, cellular radios, Bluetooth, GNSS receivers, RFID readers, CAN Bus, OPC, various sensors, etc.)
Demonstrated electronic trouble shooting, familiarity with electronic data sheets, schematics
Experience with Governmental regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, etc.)
Experience with various unguided media technologies (WIFI, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa, etc.)
Experience with M2M/IoT practices
Demonstrated experience as a technical professional and mentor in previous roles
Educational Requirements:

The Systems Software Engineer will assume ownership of engineering the software platforms and applications that enable our internal and third party devices to deliver real time data from across the globe. This role focuses on IoT at the edge (on the devices themselves) with extension into a modern cloud IoT platform. Successful candidates will be experienced creating open source ecosystems on Unix-like platforms that facilitate all the functionalities of an evolving IoT platforms as well as creating applications that communicate with hardware through various protocols and bus types. Working closely with device systems engineers and cloud platform engineers you will build world class scalable and robust software systems that ensure our IoT edge devices evolve with customer needs. Might require minimal onsite travel
