Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Software Test Engineer I applies the principles of secure software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and cloud infrastructure. Works cross functionally to understand business requirements, architecture and technology direction, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed accordingly. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality, scalability, resilience and security as well as ease-of-use (developer / user experience). Applies agile principles to software development with a focus on delivery of business value, collaboration, continuous improvement and sustainability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gains familiarity with Software Test Engineering concepts, practices, and methodologies.
  • With guidance, performs standard Software Test duties, including:
  • Working with team members to review client requirements, design and associated functional specifications,
  • Using standard methods and tools to test and ensure the quality of software applications,
  • Defining test cases with product and engineering teams,
  • Developing and executing manual tests,
  • Creating test documents covering a range of software features,
  • Monitoring production systems to preemptively catch outages Troubleshooting and debugging identified issues,
  • Writing and organizing test review documentation.
  • Assists Team Leader and team colleagues on selected projects.
  • Develops progress reports and communicates project status to manager and project stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and generally less than 2 years' experience in a related field; or 4 years' experience in a related field.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with testing framework such as Selenium a plus.
  • Foundational skills in requirements analysis, software installation and support, system and technology integration, technical troubleshooting and technology savvy.
  • Foundational skills in building positive relationship, collaborating with intent, communicating with impact, engaging others and influencing positive outcomes.


Drug Testing

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position.
