Summary of Position:

The Solutions Architect is expected to lead projects, understand requirements, define appropriate solutions, and provide estimates for the usage of hours and cost of intended solutions. This role works with different teams to ensure that the solution balances both appropriate expectations and quality execution. The ability to create supported documentation and diagrams is required as part of the project lifecycle.

Essential Functions:
  • Define solution options, architectures and bill of materials
  • Articulate the benefits of solutions, research and demonstrate ROI
  • Develop proof of concept, including leveraging replicable architectures and researching customized solutions
  • Create accurate detailed diagrams and design documents intended for proposed solution - including firewalls, ports, server types, applications, and requirements
  • Provides support for all subtasks in at least 4 Solution categories
  • Drive design and development for major solution components
  • Develops Technical Architecture and present solution to team(s)
  • Translates business requirements into design / applicable solution
  • Drive project reporting and status from architects and engineers
  • Drives delivery of assigned tasks on schedule
  • Expands knowledge of target industry solutions
  • Leads and participates in project teams
  • Uses and promotes the use of best practices, project management and tools to team(s)
  • Trusted advisor for customers in evaluating technology solutions, vendor options, integration strategy, etc.
  • Deliver technology demonstrations, build customer proof-of-concept labs
  • Effectively map technology solutions to customer business needs
  • Develop multi-discipline technical architectures to meet customer needs
  • Guide customers through adoption lifecycle including design, proof-of-concept, testing, integration planning, pilot, production, and operationalizing
  • Partner with manufacturers to align technical sales strategy, identify resources and strategic execution
  • Internal pre-sales functions including pipeline development and forecasting, relationship development, BOM creation, account planning
  • Position and sell the entire Denali portfolio of products and services as appropriate
  • The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
  • The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications

  • Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
    • 5+ Years of Experience

    Qualifications:
    • 5+ years working in IT engineering, pre/post-sales engineering or similar
    • Proven track record of technology leadership, technical project planning and execution, and solution design
    • Fluency in variety of technologies including core networking, security, collaboration, data center, cloud, programmability/automation, storage, virtualization, etc.
    • Fluency in business drivers for technology adoption and consumption
    • Working knowledge of various verticals and technology priorities
    • Excellent communication skills including public speaking
    • BS/BA in computer science related degree or equivalent experience
    • Expert-level industry certifications from Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, AWS, etc. or equivalent experience
    • Accurately prioritize against multiple projects
    • Has Advanced / Subject Matter Expert understanding of tools in multiple deployment types and scales
    • Leads by example in all capacities
