An Oil and Gas company in downtown Houston is looking to hire a Solutions Engineer to join their Information Systems department, working within the Optimization group. This group is dedicated to technical project development that optimizes any piece of production. The Solutions Engineer should come from a background in the field, and will be responsible effectively communicating between the Production Engineers and the software development group. This person could be required to create visualization with Spotfire, or participate in data analytics. However, the main function of this position is understanding the business (production operations), and delivering IT solutions to improve business functions. The current project is centered around Artificial Lift Optimization, and the ideal candidate will have experience analyzing/working with artificial lift systems. Lastly, this person must be comfortable working on-site in Downtown Houston 5 days / week.

Based on knowledge and experience, the hourly pay rate range for this position is $45-$60/hr.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering
1-3 years of professional work experience in the O&G industry
Experience working as a Production Engineer
Knowledgeable in Artificial Lift optimization
Knowledgeable in software development
Strong experience with excel and data analytics
Excellent communication and strong willingness to learn

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience communicating business requirements to software developer groups
Experience creating visual reports using tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, or Tableau
Experience with SQL or Python programming
