PROFILE

The Solutions Engineer performs a variety of development related services. Services include migration of customer critical data, enterprise level system integrations, implementation, troubleshooting, testing and design of customer specific API projects along with custom tool(s) designed and maintained by TriMech.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, maintain, and lead product/service initiatives for TriMech Solutions department:

  • Data Migrations Tools (Data Migration Systems)
  • TriMech PowerSuite scripts & add-in products
  • Customer scoped solutions
  • Enterprise level system integrations


Design and develop custom .NET solutions for TriMech and customers.

  • Standalone WinForms, API libraries, Windows services, ASP.NET websites and more.
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.


Troubleshoot, debug, modify, and maintain custom solutions from outside parties.

  • Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem(s)/need(s).


Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with SolidWorks PDM, Microsoft SQL, .NET code, and TriMech branded software.

  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal resources.


Have a thorough understanding of the deployment of the small, medium, and enterprise solutions.

Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.

  • Provide step-by-step technical direction, both in written and verbal fashion to customers and team members.


Help identify opportunities for additional services with the TriMech Solutions department.

Participate as required in SOLIDWORKS Rollout events, tradeshows, and seminars.

Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and managing changing priorities

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to take charge and innovate.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 5+ years in an application engineering field, either supporting sales or existing customers.

Education: Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline or equivalent job experience.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional communication, reporting, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to delegate duties effectively.
  • Experience in applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Proficient in .NET development (C#) with a solid knowledge of its ecosystems.
    • Strong understanding of object-oriented programing
    • Skill for writing reusable C# libraries/APIs
    • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
  • Familiarity with JSON, XML, Microsoft Office, and machine virtualization.
  • Familiarity with databases, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, embedded solutions, and NoSQL (object) systems.
    • Knowledge of SQL/T-SQL scripting languages
  • Entry level knowledge of SolidWorks API functions is a plus.
  • Entry level knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD Modeling software and/or similar 3D hierarchical modeling software is a plus (core understanding of hierarchical design).
