Job Title: Sonographer OB GYN
Job Specialty: Maternal Fetal Care
Job Duration: 12 months
Shift: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts with varying start times from 7 am to 8 am and shift ending between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Potential to rotate to the Maternal Mobile Clinic up to 2 days a week. No weekend or on-call duties.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Preferred one year of current clinical experience. Familiarity with McKesson PACS and Epic EMR is preferred.
License: Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in OB/GYN (OB) and Fetal Echo (FE).
Certifications: Certified in Nuchal Translucency (NT) and Cervical Length (CLEAR). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Must-Have: Expertise with ultrasound equipment and basic knowledge of patient care equipment.
Job Description:
- Administer ultrasound procedures to pregnant patients and operate ultrasound equipment.
- Prepare patient rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, Doppler studies, biophysical profiles, high-detail Level 2 ultrasounds, and anatomy surveys.
- Follow prescribed techniques for ultrasound procedures and teach new technicians how to scan.
- Monitor patients and instruments during procedures, report unusual occurrences, and document patient conditions.
- Maintain stock supplies and ensure cleanliness and disinfection of ultrasound rooms and equipment.
- Enter exam procedures into a computer database and maintain patient records.
- Perform and assist with portable ultrasound exams.
- Consult with perinatologists regarding findings to aid in diagnoses.
- Consistently meet schedule and quality requirements.
- Participate in a virtual and in-person interview process, if preferred.
Education:
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or relevant bodies.
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Ultrasound/Sonography is preferred.
- Substantial training and current clinical experience with an ARDMS registry will be accepted.
