The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization dedicated to feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders by partnering with local organizations from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore. The food bank's statewide network of food assistance brings enough resources together to provide nearly 114,000 meals every day (more than 41 million meals annually) to hungry children, seniors, veterans, and hard-working families, meeting the immediate needs of hungry Marylanders while simultaneously working to create pathways out of hunger.

The Sourcing Manager will create reporting systems to find ways to improve donated and ordered items, ensuring the right mix of products for the best turnover and availability of food for the network. This role will be vital for all MFB facilities and departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
70% Food Sourcing: Develop relationships with brokers, distributors, retail sites, carriers, 3PLs, and manufacturers that lead to the receipt of usable, nutritious foods to be made available for the agency network. Understand and help drive inventory turns to ensure products at risk, are identified at the point of receipt and pushed through to the network.
20% Reporting and Analysis: Utilize NetSuite ERP system to determine buying strategy.

- Examine items received for cost, to understand value proposition and recommend improvements.
20% Reporting and Analysis: Utilize NetSuite ERP system to determine buying strategy.
- Managing Turns/Days of Supply
- Creating forecasts for items
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Relevant experience will be considered as well
Basic Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license is required as well as an MVR showing no prior DUI/DWI's and fewer than 2 points against the license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), NetSuite, and the ability to learn and apply other softwares.
- Minimum of 5 years of food purchasing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS Certification
- Demonstrated ability to effectively build and sustain business relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders and organization partners.
- At least 3 years B2B in a cold calling environment for either sourcing or selling

Salary range:
- $80,000 - $85, 000 / annually
Work environment:
- The employee will carry out the job duties in/around office environment with visits to retail sites, farms, warehouses, etc. Temperature and noise may fluctuate when visiting sites.
