Title: Special Assets Officer - Real Estate
Location: Regional Area - Northeastern U.S.
Description:
We are seeking a Special Assets Officer to manage and rehabilitate a portfolio of classified Real Estate loans and properties. The role involves devising and implementing strategies to mitigate risk and maximize recovery, working closely with the Special Assets Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing distressed portfolios and a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial institutions.
Essential Functions:
Manage a portfolio of classified assets, including commercial Real Estate loans, construction projects, and other Real Estate-owned properties.
Devise and implement strategies for loan restructuring and risk mitigation.
Monitor loan compliance, covenant adherence, and borrower financial reporting.
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to prepare credit analyses, status reports, and loan restructuring packages.
Ensure timely renewal of loan maturities and accurate risk ratings.
Communicate with attorneys, appraisers, and other stakeholders to facilitate pre-closing and resolution activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical skills to develop restructuring and risk mitigation strategies.
Ability to analyze financial conditions, cash flow, collateral, and repayment capacity.
Effective communication with borrowers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Formal credit training required.
10+ years of experience managing distressed portfolios of commercial Real Estate loans and properties.
MBA or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.

Compensation:
Pay range: $84k-$120k/year
