Your Impact

As a Specialist Geochemist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Newmont's global exploration strategy. Your expertise in geochemical data interpretation will help uncover new resource opportunities and support smarter, more sustainable mineral exploration across diverse geological settings.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Design and implement geochemical surveys for greenfields and brownfields exploration.
  • Analyze and integrate geochemical, geological, and geophysical data for target generation.
  • Recommend appropriate and innovative sampling and analysis methodologies to improve exploration outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to drive project success.
  • Conduct due diligence for potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop maps, models, and technical presentations for exploration findings.
  • Facilitate training to promote the latest and most robust geochemical techniques and field safety practices.


Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Geology or Geochemistry
  • Strong experience in mineral exploration, especially with gold and base metals
  • Advanced proficiency with geochemical data interpretation and software tools
  • Ability to work with large datasets to generate actionable insights
  • Familiarity with resource development workflows and public company reporting standards
  • Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professional registration (e.g., PGeo) or eligibility preferred
  • Additional language skills (French, Spanish, Dutch) are a plus

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160 - 144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
