Sr. Accountant - Revenue Accrual

As a key member of the Revenue team, the Senior Accrual Accountant is responsible for booking revenue accruals on a monthly basis, preparing and delivering detailed financial information regarding the month over month changes of revenue volumes and values and related expenses, and performing variance analysis on revenue accruals compared to actuals. A successful individual in this position will demonstrate initiative, is able to communicate to various stakeholders, and is willing to develop others within area of responsibility. This role will be required to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Prepare revenue accrual entries on a monthly basis
• Prepare and deliver meaningful financial information, performance metrics, analysis and reports within functional area
• Apply competent accounting principles and understand financial statement impacts related to functional area
• Assist in the evaluation of complex, non-routine transactions
• Identify and recommend best practices and improvements to processes within functional area
• Seek to understand accounting impacts outside area of responsibility
• Understand risk and adhere to internal control structure
• Provide system support through power user role
• Respond to internal/external audit requests
• Lead and/or participate in department or cross functional projects/initiatives
• Understand and apply oil and gas industry specific concepts within area of responsibility
• Conduct business with the highest ethical standards
• Deliver effective written and verbal communication
• Maintains and fosters a high level of vigilance and awareness for cyber security risks
• Other duties as assigned

Computer/Software Applications:

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
• Working knowledge of SAP FICO module a plus, as is Power BI and Alteryx

Experience/Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master's degree in accounting or related field of study a plus
• 4+ years relevant work experience and oil and gas revenue accounting experience preferred
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Schedule: Primarily remote with ability to commute to the Denver office on short notice

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 To $105,000 Annually
