We are seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to support the Chief Financial Officer in managing the company's accounting and financial activities. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, managing sales tax calculation and reporting preparation process, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Our ideal candidate will be doing the following Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
2. Assist in creating financial statements and presentations for the Board of Directors and internal leaders.
3. Ensure all accounting practices comply with legal guidelines and established accounting principles as define by GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
4. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
5. Assist with tax documentation preparation and review of sales and use tax filings and payment.
6. Work with the financial team to create and maintain internal controls and policies.
7. Collaborate with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes.
8. Implement and maintain accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
9. Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
10. Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
11. Support budget and forecasting activities.
12. Coordinate annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely completion.
13. Perform monthly financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate will also have the following Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
5 years of progressive accounting roles with experience with creating and explaining financial statements required.
2 years of management experience preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
