THE HIGH LEVEL
The US Census Bureau requires technical AV and conference facilitation support for their modernized Auditorium and Conference Center at their Headquarters location in Suitland, MD. These spaces are critical to the function of the Census Bureau and requires full time support to ensure the continuing operation of all spaces. This position will report to the site daily.

Duties will include setting up meetings, live streams, video conferences and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. The Senior AV Technician will also manage the spare equipment inventory and replace malfunctioning equipment from the spares pool when hardware needs to be sent to the manufacturer for repair.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Day to day operation of the Auditorium and Conference Center AV system
- Troubleshooting of issues with customer devices interfacing with the AV system
- Diagnose/Troubleshoot issues that arise in the AV system and coordinate with the AV maintenance helpdesk to escalate problems as required
- Repair/Replacement of components as required
- Coordinate with AV maintenance helpdesk
- Coordination with the facilities group for room scheduling
- Work with meeting stakeholders to ensure required capabilities are set up for meetings
- Create Standard Operating Procedures and Quick Reference Guides as required
- Manage troubleshooting tickets and track trends of tickets over time
- Provide support including in-room and external network support with the AV system GUI
- Provide training to customers, end users, and other conference facilitators as required
- Perform routine system testing to ensure the AV system is operating as required
- Provide feedback to Census and Iron Bow for potential system or operational enhancements to improve system functionality and the overall user experience
- Manage the configuration of all components in the AV system
- Maintain all system components according to Avixia and OEM standards
- Other duties as required to fulfill the job role
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- You have demonstrated experience with providing technical and operational support for large AV systems
- You have excellent troubleshooting skills for Laptops, Displays, Control Systems, and Crestron NVX equipment
- Excellent knowledge of the integration and operation of AV systems and AV over IP
- You possess strong knowledge with demonstrated experience using VTC Codecs, Audio Mixers, AV Control Systems, AV Automation, Wiring, Amplifiers, Microphones, Projection Systems, Video Cameras, and other AV peripheral equipment
- You understand architectural and engineering drawings and schematics.
- You're able to effectively capture, analyze, and clarify customer needs through verbal and written methods
- You're able to ascertain customer needs by eliciting information through various means of communication
- You're able to manage time, focus, and efficiently multi-task with fluid deadlines.
- You're able to recognize, analyze, and solve technical problems through critical and strategic thinking
- You are detail oriented, thorough, and organized with sound judgement and decision-making
- Able to develop and maintain working relationships with customers and co-workers
- Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision, effectively collaborate within a team, take direction, and execute company mission and initiatives
- Able to negotiate and resolve conflicts with positive outcomes
- You have experience with cable management and signal separation in an equipment rack.
- You're experienced with loading control system code (e.g. Crestron, AMX).
- You're experienced in Audio DSP configuration including, but not limited to; leveling and routing; file building; EQ/filtering; logic and control; and system tuning.
- Working knowledge of AMX/Crestron source code development process for small to medium size systems is beneficial.
- You have working AVIXA and AQAV AV9000 performance and quality standards is beneficial.
- You're experienced with drafting formal written standard operating procedures and processes is beneficial.
- Knowledge, understanding, and skill in reading and writing the English language.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and management.
- Ability to convey a professional and positive image to customers and employees.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Persistence in the face of obstacles and challenges
- BS/BA or equivalent education & experience
- AVIXA CTS-I certification
- Crestron DM-NVX certification
- Biamp Tesira certifications and training
- Other Crestron and industry trainings and certifications are beneficial
- Must be eligible for a US Public Trust clearance
