Sr BI Developer

Summary:

Miller Milling Company is seeking a senior business intelligence developer to support the growing BI and data analysis capabilities that our organization requires. This position will play a lead role in the advancement of our rapidly expanding data-related initiatives using the latest cloud-based tools.

Primary Duties:

• Design and development of MMC's data warehouse, dashboarding, and self-service reporting ecosystem using the Microsoft BI toolset (SQL Server, Fabric, Power BI, Azure).
• Lead the process of engaging cross-functional teams to define project requirements
• Design and develop database objects (databases, tables, views, stored procedures, etc.) in the Microsoft Fabric and Azure platforms.
• Develop, maintain, and support new and existing ETL processes (e.g., Fabric Data Engineering).
• Help automate and modernize data-related processes using Knime and other automation tools.
• Create intuitive data visualizations using Power BI and other reporting tools that drive engagement from business partners.
• Establish routine processes and practices to promote accuracy of the data warehouse and reporting.
• Perform data analysis to extract insights from complex datasets.
• Communicate findings and insights to business stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.
• Establish a system of process documentation and document management (e.g., data dictionaries, procedures documents).

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of related work experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in designing and developing database objects and writing queries in SQL
• Experience designing and developing ETL pipelines (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory). Fabric experience a plus.
• Experience designing and developing interactive data visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Knime)
• Experience leading requirements-gathering efforts for BI projects
• Familiarity with data science concepts and tools (e.g., machine learning, AI, Python/R)
• Strong organizational skills, including ability to plan, monitor, and follow through on work commitments and confirm priorities with stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into impactful BI solutions.
