A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for a specific category of indirect goods and services. Responsible to optimize costs, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the smooth flow of non-production materials and services needed to support Tandem's Supply Chain for the organization's core operations. May manage an individual contributor member of the team.

YOU'RE AWESOME AT:

• Develop and execute category strategies, including spend analysis, market research, supplier identification, and sourcing optimization.
• Manage the total cost of ownership ("TCO") for assigned categories, including identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and identify new technologies and solutions related to IT.
• Lead sourcing projects from initiation to completion, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage budgets and track spending for assigned categories.
• Oversee the requisition and purchase order process along with managing vendor contracting with Tandem Legal team.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders with a focus on IT, but also including R&D Engineering, HR, Marketing, Facilities, Finance, and Legal.
• Communicate category strategies and procurement decisions effectively.
• Provide training and support to stakeholders on procurement processes.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, SOX, FDA quality requirements, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
• Supports the short-term to long-term planning for the department including headcount, budgeting, training, and systems requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

• BA/BS, or equivalent combination of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience, or a related field.
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and ERP Information Systems, Coupa or similar Business Spend software, and Lexion or similar experience with a CLM system.
• Prior experience leading and managing a customer-facing department and associated staff is preferred.
• Experience in a high volume, medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
• International procurement experience.
• 15+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect procurement in the medical device space.
• Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, cost analysis, and contract negotiation.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings through procurement initiatives.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
• Skilled at effectively communicating department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or timelines. Able to gain cooperation of others.
• Skilled at effectively leading a cooperative team effort and organizing resources to achieve team goals. Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $105,400 to $131,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
