Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Data Algorithm Engineer to support and upscale our Service Supply Chain Distribution strategies. You will be part of the Supply Chain Optimization team that is managing strategic projects and continuous improvement efforts for Tesla's Global Distribution Network. The role requires the ability to build strong cross-functional working relationships with Material Planning, Logistics, Finance, Warehouse Operations and Service Operations teams. You will require a sharp business focus, a collaborative style of working, and a proactive and critical mindset. You need to acquire deep subject matter knowledge about systems, sourcing, planning and fulfillment processes to build models to drive impactful business changes. It is essential that you can think strategically, connect the dots in the bigger picture, as well as be comfortable in the details of the deliverables to drive operational improvements. The role is expected to simultaneously handle multiple projects of department-level scale and global reach.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a Digital Twin system for comprehensive end-to-end supply chain visibility, employing a user interface that replicates real-time warehouse operations
  • Leverage IoT data, AI analytics, and sophisticated modeling techniques to mirror physical assets and processes, facilitating the optimization of logistics, inventory management, and operational decision-making through predictive analytics and scenario simulation
  • Develop AI models for conducting 'What-If' scenario analyses in warehouse operations/automations, empowering predictive optimization of key performance indicators (KPIs) and enabling proactive identification of potential future issues, thereby ensuring strategic alignment with long-term operational efficiency objectives
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Operational teams to seamlessly integrate AI solutions into the warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring smooth functionality and interoperability
  • Simulate and conduct sensitivity analyses to stress-test existing networks and future models, identifying operational bottlenecks and risks to inform strategic decision-making
  • Translate quantitative research and analysis outcomes into actionable insights, preparing visualizations and delivering findings through influential storytelling
  • Develop decision support systems, tools, and models, and oversee the program management of solution implementation and optimization processes, prioritizing speed, accuracy, cost efficiency, capacity, and flexibility


Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, Applied Math, Operations Research, or related field, complemented by 3+ years of hands-on industrial experience specializing in machine learning algorithms and tools/Frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, and deep learning applications or equivalent experience
  • Strong Mathematical fundamentals and algorithms skills
  • Excellent programming, debugging, performance analysis, and test design skills
  • Prior experience with cutting-edge techniques such as Large Language Models, Multimodal unsupervised learning, and Generative AI, contributing to innovative solutions for supply chain optimization
  • Proficient in programming languages including C/C++, MATLAB, AutoCAD, R, SQL, and Python
  • Project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Git, Microsoft Project)
  • Strong ability to work independently and lead R&D initiatives, coupled with excellent communication and documentation skills to convey insights, findings, and project progress to stakeholders effectively

    • Expected Compensation$80,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
