Responsibilities

The Decision Science team helps our operating companies solve their most challenging problems and drives decisions with data. As a Senior Data & Analytics Architect, you will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and efficient data products and solutions to enable data centric decision making. You will be at the forefront of shaping standards and executing best practices for all aspects of data management - naming, governing, managing, modeling, data engineering, data security etc. With your expertise in data modeling and leading analytics projects, you will be responsible for ensuring that data products that are built are robust, scalable, reflect the data architecture standards. You have excellent business engagement and leadership skills and thrive on building strong partnerships and working relationships with business and analytics leaders at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead enterprise and divisional analytic projects, own end-to-end development and deployment, provide oversight of data architecture design, data quality and timely delivery.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders across our businesses to understand their analytics needs and translate them into scalable and performant technical solutions and align architectural strategies with organizational goals.
  • Lead the design and development of complex analytics and data products that address supply chain marketing and back-office challenges and opportunities.
  • Be the subject matter expert for the current capabilities, data elements and metrics available in the data lake, with a thorough understanding of the existing data pipelines, schedules and dependencies.
  • Define and enforce development guidelines, standards and best practices for data integration pipelines and data management.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and governance across all analytics solutions. Think like an owner and a champion of data platform quality, performance, and data integrity so that it's something you are proud of.
  • Define, create and maintain artifacts of Enterprise Data solutions such as data flow diagrams, conceptual/logical data models, data dictionaries.
  • Get your hands dirty with data integration tools and providing end-to-end data solution designs (both high-level and low-level).
  • Collaborate with D&A teams across the Enterprise to understand data management needs, provide thought leadership in data-related projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely with data architects and engineers to ensure all data products are cataloged in conformance with standards and cataloging is practiced as an integral part of data product lifecycle
  • Champion the adoption of data catalog to enable driving value through collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and KPI's tracking the health of data from the perspective of quality, availability, usability, and other factors relevant to business interests.
  • Work with the Data Governance Analyst to help implement policies; processes defined in the governance framework.
  • Foster innovation by keeping abreast of emerging technologies, creating scalable architectures to drive continuous innovation.
  • Build visibility and awareness of the gap between current state architecture and future state and influence project and product roadmaps in their journey to the adoption of the future state. Identify opportunities to optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through architectural enhancements, code optimizations etc.
  • Seek to simplify process, architecture and tool selection over time with elegant design.
  • Be a problem finder to uncover opportunities for improvement in the business
  • Challenge the status quo with new data products, technologies, and innovative problem solutions
  • Monitor industry trends, remain current with industry best practices and identify emerging technologies that should be adopted.
  • Encourage and inspire others to find creative solutions, embrace change and collaborate on innovative approaches to achieve business outcomes.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the game and operational maturity of the team.
  • Develop a roadmap of the capabilities needed on the team to reach strategic objectives and effectively match people, their interest and ability levels to drive them to achieve their personal best.
  • Mentor junior data management system team on data management system and solution methods, best practices, and applications.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information systems or another quantitative field is required or relevant experience
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or business intelligence, with a strong focus on enterprise-level data integration and platform development
  • 5+ years of experience in leading data engineering teams or architecture teams, including responsibility for strategic data platform design and cross-enterprise collaboration
  • Advanced knowledge and hands on experience in database design, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence design principles. Must possess strong SQL knowledge
  • Experienced in agile and waterfall project implementation methodologies
  • Hands on experience developing analytics solutions using Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau. Should be able to communicate value and present insights.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERPs such as JDE, SAP, Oracle eBiz, Netsuite and functional domains a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience in data governance, cataloging and data quality principles
  • Knowledge of CPG business function is preferred. Possess strong business acumen and consistently demonstrates forward thinking
  • Able to effectively work with ambiguous or incomplete information and is unphased by change

This is a hybrid role located in St. Louis, Missouri. In office days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Work from home days are Mondays and Fridays.
