Sr. Data Engineer

With rapid growth comes opportunity. We are looking for a Sr Data Engineer to join our team in Mississauga! This is a full-time / exempt position.

Responsibilities:

• Designs new algorithm features, working with junior level team members on maintenance and data reporting.
• Maintains algorithms and builds data pipelines, including support for new instrument hardware and software. Tests algorithms for ELT annotated and non-annotated reference data.
• Benchmarks algorithm performances and researches and implements new technologies and/or practices to provide efficient process improvements.
• Designs data schema and operates internal data warehouse, working directly with other engineers and data scientists to flow data from various source systems into the data warehouse.
• Monitors and troubleshoots operational or data issues in data pipelines for BAX and Ensure Touch Product lines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or related field, or equivalent education and work experience, required.
• Experience with Statistical modeling, Machine Learning, Data Science or Data Engineering.
• 3-7 years as a Data Engineer or a Sr. Data Engineer
• Experience with scripting languages such as:
• MATLAB
• Python
• Experience with Windows dll packaging
• Experience with writing SQL queries and ETL.
• Experience working on a SCRUM/Kanban team in a CI/CD environment
• Experience with columnar databases and familiarity with statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
