Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer to establish and develop a new DevOps team within our rapidly expanding engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence in supporting Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) development pipelines, an Agile SDLC, cloud architectures, automation and monitoring/performance of assigned environments. The role will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining software quality assurance processes and procedures and will lead the effort to implement test automation at ITS.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Define, implement and document operational processes and procedures, with periodic review for efficiency and feedback to the development team for improvement.
  • Maintain a suite of DevOps best practices and tools, focusing on test automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Automate deployment and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code orchestrators such as Azure ARM Templates and tools such as Helm and Terraform
  • Creating pipelines, managing pools of agents, tracking artifacts using cloud-native tools, or best-of-breed tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Measurement, optimization, and tuning of system performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available in a 24/7 production environment.
  • Automate application configuration using CM tools such as Ansible Playbooks or Kubernetes Templates
  • Utilize an advanced diagnostic method to isolate issues to software, platform or infrastructure
  • Analyze and develop plans to support the automation o
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, customers and IT in the design and evolution of business solutions

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a technically mature, highly motivated and self-directed individual who possess a strong working knowledge of CI/CD software development and Dev/Ops practices. Additional requirements include:

Desired Technical Skills
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps/Automation/Build or general software engineering role
  • Fundamental understanding of DevOps topics like CI/CD and Infrastructure As Code
  • Experience with SCM, SVN, GIT, VS, HTML, SQL, Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with container orchestration offerings, infrastructure automation tools and logging/monitoring tools
  • Experience with design, implementation, and deployment of cloud-native applications on PaaS
  • Experience with Object Oriented programming
  • Exceptional analytical skills and diagnostic method
  • Experience developing and maintaining test automation systems and best practices
  • Understanding security and compliance best practices
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Ansible or Kubernetes
  • Self-driven desire to continuously learn new technologies and skills
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Strong attention to detail
