Job Description

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Office is seeking a visionary leader to direct the student services operations of our academic advising hub for new freshmen and transfer students and help oversee the vision and implementation of advising and other student support services provided by The College's 20 academic units.

Under the administrative direction of the Associate Dean for Student and Academic Programs, the Senior Director of Academic Advising plays a pivotal role in providing student services for new first-year and transfer undergraduates to our college. Located in Armstrong Hall on the Tempe Campus, our advising model transitions new students to our college through opportunities to explore academic degree options, programs to enhance student engagement with ASU, and career readiness services - all in one central location. Developed through the collaboration of multiple units in the Dean's Office - including new student outreach and recruitment, first-year student success programming, and the Futures Center (The College's career center) - a critical feature of this model is the role that our academic advisors play in teaching The College's first-year success course and connecting our new students to the range of engagement opportunities and academic support resources available at ASU.

In addition, this position serves as the lead college advisor - working closely with faculty chairs/directors and student services professionals in The College's 20 schools and departments and executing strategies to guide the academic advising and retention initiatives throughout The College. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong passion for shaping the advising and student success mission of Arizona State University.
