Desired Characteristics
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $159,500.00 - 212,600.00 USD per year. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 4/8/2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

As the Sr Director - Data Science, the roles and responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and steer the strategic direction of data science initiatives to align with and support overarching business objectives. Develop a comprehensive roadmap for AI and GenAI solutions that enhance operational efficiency and create value.
- Talent Development: Mentor, guide, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and AI professionals. Lead the AI training initiative and foster an environment that encourages professional growth, continuous learning, and innovation for the work force.
- Proof-of-Concept Assessment: Oversee the proof-of-concept assessment of advanced AI and GenAI solutions, ensuring they demonstrate the ability to meet the performance expectations and align with enterprise goals.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive innovative business solutions. Facilitate seamless integration of data science initiatives with other business units.
- Stakeholder Ambassador: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key business stakeholders across the organization to promote a data-driven culture. Lead leadership training and adoption campaigns to drive Power-wide business adoption of AI as a productivity enabler. Advocate for the strategic use of data in decision-making at all levels.
- Responsible AI: Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data and analytics processes, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards, and promote responsible and ethical use of AI.
- Technology Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to maintain a competitive edge. Drive the adoption of cutting-edge tools and methodologies to enhance the organization's data science capabilities.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- 8+ years of experience with people leadership responsibilities
Desired Characteristics
- Extensive experience in a senior people leadership role within data science or AI, or data & analytics preferably within a large enterprise setting. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing impactful AI and GenAI solutions.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team. Strong track record of fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Deep expertise in data analytics tools and platforms, machine learning, and statistical modeling. Proficiency in leveraging data to drive strategic business outcomes.
- Proven ability to oversee complex projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and resources effectively. Experience in operating in an matrix organization and avid practitioner of Agile and SAFe.
