Position Overview:
Directs the decision support activities and provides financial consulting and strategy support in assigned areas serving as an actuarial subject matter expert, translator of data, and performing actuarial modeling to assist the finance leadership. Develops the annual budgeting process and coordinates and monitors the operating and capital budget preparation for assigned areas. Provides actuarial and financial analysis support to primary customers, including cost of healthcare trend projection, downstream provider contract evaluation, development of new programs, and review of financial and operational performance. Assists with system level projects requiring actuarial and financial expertise and direction such as litigation support and due diligence evaluation. Serves as a resource and a liaison between Finance and Senior Management, other Sutter Health departments, and outside customers.

Pay Range is $94.32 to $150.90 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Job Description:
EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 15 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of managerial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles used in the preparation of financial statements.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting systems (including accounts payable, payroll, and procurement), internal controls, financial forecasting, and budgeting.
- Advanced understanding of the business environment including the key functional departments such as finance, human resources and payroll, materials management and accounts payable, organizational design, strategy and business development, and process improvement.
- Must have written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Must be able to work with all levels of staff, management, and board members to translate complex financial accounting issues to non-financial customers.
- Must have the ability to handle shifting priorities and direct multiple projects while consistently meeting established deadlines.
- Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and have a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Must be able to work with concepts, ambiguity and complexity comfortably.
- Leadership skills to make an appropriate contribution and gives direction to senior management, work groups, and task forces.
- Advanced skills with database management, file management, spreadsheet applications, and word processing applications are required.
